When Eugene back in 2014 raised the question whether I could create an early development program, I was excited right away. Because I was and am convinced that sports, and soccer specifically, is an amazing tool to learn life skills. And at Footbik we do so in a so called ‘child friendly learning environment’ where development and enjoyment go hand in hand. With Footbik we have created a place that feels like a second home to the kids, and in a place like that, they will excel. You know what instantly happens whenever I step inside in one of our clubs? I start smiling. I just can’t help it :).

When my son Danil was growing up, I didn't know whether he would want to become a a football player, playing with a ball from morning to evening, and what profession he would choose. he would choose. But I knew for sure that I wanted Danil to have a happy childhood, to be healthy and become a successful person who knows how to to set goals and achieve them when he grows up. Football could be a tool to help him do that, but in the service market I saw only “post-Soviet” sections where children were just expendable material to satisfy the coach's ambitions, where shouting and humiliation were the most common pedagogical techniques. My son was lucky enough to get into a Dutch soccer camp, where I saw football camp, where I saw that it could be completely different: where coaches are teachers who open the world of sports to children and see each child as a unique personality, and football is is a tool that allows a person to open up.
